All day event
In addition to monthly meetings the club organises an annual, all day event usually at a weekend. A professional turner is invited to demonstrate a range of techniques in a relaxed atmosphere with the club providing ‘bacon butties‘ for breakfast and a hot meal at lunchtime together with rolling tea, coffee and snacks. Previous demonstrators at these events include Les Thorne, Mark Sanger and Nick Arnull.
A competition with a monthly theme.
Beginners’ Tuition sessions take place in the workshop at Headway 9am until 11am on Friday mornings. These sessions are run by AWGB accredited Tutors. The club also provides full day courses for turners of all levels through the AWGB.
We attend shows to attract members and sell items made by members. The funds raised help to maintain our funds, keep subscriptions low and enable the purchase of equipment.
Shows attended include;
- Malvern Spring RHS Show (May)
- Three Counties Show, Malvern (June)
- Autumn RHS Show, Malvern (September)
- Leominster Victorian Fair (December)
